NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING
What is Neuropsychological Testing?
Neuropsychological testing is a comprehensive method used to evaluate an individual’s cognitive abilities, emotional functioning, and behavior. Through a series of carefully designed assessments, we measure various aspects of brain function, including attention, memory, language, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. These evaluations can highlight both strengths and areas of difficulty. Our experienced team of psychologists and diagnostic externs administers, scores, and interprets the tests with precision and care. Based on the results, we provide personalized recommendations to support and enhance cognitive and emotional well-being—whether for you or your child.
Common Reasons for Neuropsychological Testing
A neuropsychological evaluation can help you or your loved one better understand changes in thinking, memory, behavior, or learning. Common reasons people seek an evaluation include:
• Concerns about memory, attention, concentration, or suspected ADHD
• Learning challenges or school struggles
• Emotional difficulties impacting daily functioning
• Clarifying a diagnosis or treatment planning
• Support for school or workplace accommodations
If you’re noticing changes or just want answers, we’re here to help.
Frequently asked questions
Who can get tested?
Anyone ages 6+ looking to gain insight into their functioning/self understanding.
What is the process?
You will begin with an intake interview, during which we will gather background information, get to know you, and guide you through the testing process.
Following the intake, you will return for a series of testing sessions. These typically occur over two to three days, with each session lasting approximately three hours. While the exact schedule may vary, we recommend setting aside a total of 9 to 10 hours for testing.
Once testing is complete, our clinical team will thoroughly review and analyze the results. A comprehensive report will be prepared and presented during a feedback session, typically held 3 to 5 weeks after your final testing appointment.
During the final feedback session, we will discuss the results, review our findings, and provide you with relevant clinical recommendations and resources.
Will my insurance cover Neuropsychological Testing?
We accept BCBSIL PPO and AETNA PPO and will verify your benefits ahead of testing.
The hourly fee for this assessment is $220-$245 per hour, unless a contracted rate is in place (BCBSIL or AETNA). A typical evaluation is comprehensive. It is estimated to take 10-15 hours of time. For self-paying patients, a deposit of $2500 is due prior to the testing appointment, and the remaining balance is due prior to the feedback session.
